Wappow! Search and Social Conference Coverage

Aloha! Hosting its annual Search and Social event in Hawaii this week is Wappow!, and this poor individual has packed up her laptop and recording devices to accompany Bruce to the conference and bring you coverage from Hawaii’s “Garden Island,” Kauai.

Even though we have a ton of work ahead (I swear!) with Bruce as the keynote and guest speaker and me with liveblog coverage and SEM Synergy interviews, don’t feel too bad (I know you’re playing violins right now) — Bruce is clad in his Hawaiian shirt and I in my flip flops.

Hawaiian dress code aside, we’re amped to be able to bring you coverage from a different type of conference, one we’ve never covered before. This event is all about search and social media learning, with a strong emphasis on intimate settings, audience discussion and very unique networking events.

Several speakers from across our fair industry are coming together this week to present on topics related to social media and search, and lead thought-provoking discussions with attendees. I’ll be covering nine presentations via liveblog, and I’ll even try to get in some live Twitter coverage of sessions I’m not liveblogging in between (unless I’m distracted by fruity drinks with umbrellas, of course).

Check out our liveblog coverage of the conference sessions below, and tune in on our Twitter page and others via the hashtag #SSHawaii for updates on the discussion.

Ian speaks on social media and link building at this week’s event, and is the author of several books including “Conversation Marketing.” Guest Gillian talks social and mobile at this week’s conference, and is a fellow WebmasterRadio.fm-er with her show “CEO Coach.” Stay tuned for these special guests on an upcoming SEM Synergy show.

(Update: Listen now to the podcast from Wappow Search and Social Hawaii!)

And I might as well tell you about the forced networking events we have to go to, like inner tubing down a mountain through the rainforest ━ yuck. Here are some pictures from that event from Search and Social conferences gone by:

And be sure to check out various pictures from the event when I upload them to the Bruce Clay, Inc. Facebook page and Flickr stream, so you can really get the full Search and Social experience right from the comfort of your own home. We’re happy to be able to bring you insight into topics and important issues discussed at Search and Social this week, and hope you’ll tune in to our blog and social media networks to learn more!

P.S. Pray I don’t get attacked by the roaming roosters. Apparently, Kauai is dubbed “chicken island.” And where’s there’s chickens, there’s roosters. This former farm gal knows just how mean they can be. So far, these birds seem less than interested in me:
